PART 1
HOBBY
ANSWERS
Do you have any hobbies?
(Answer 1)
Yes, and I have many hobbies, but what I enjoy doing the most is gardening. I’m fortunate to have a green thumb (natural talent for growing plants). I plant both vegetables and ornamental plants at home. So, if you visit my house, you can feel that you’re close to nature even though I live in the city.
(Answer 2)
Of course! I love playing musical instruments, such as the piano, guitar, and flute. Aside from that, I enjoy cycling, and I do it every weekend with my friends. It’s a great way for me to keep fit (to be healthy).
Did you have any hobbies when you were a child?
(Answer 1)
Well, I don’t think I developed a hobby that I religiously (to do it regularly) did whenever I wanted to. As far as I remember, I started developing a hobby when I became a teenager. I enjoyed writing journals and playing board games every time I had nothing else to do, and I wanted to entertain myself.
(Answer 2)
Yes, my love for playing musical instruments started when I was a child. My parents enrolled me in piano, guitar, and flute lessons. So, every weekend, they sent me to a music school to learn to play those musical instruments, and during weekdays, I practiced playing those musical instruments at home by myself after school.
Do you have a hobby that you’ve had since childhood?
(Answer 1)
Not at all. The hobbies that I love doing these days are the ones that I developed in my teenage years, and in recent years. Recently, I’ve been very active playing tennis, and I go for a run with my friends thrice a month. That’s actually our way of keeping ourselves fit.
(Answer 2)
Yes, just like what I said, my interest in playing musical instruments started when I was seven, and even up to this day, I’m still doing it. I can’t imagine not having that hobby because that’s my way of relieving stress, and an outlet (a method of expression) to entertain and clear my mind (free from mental clutter).
Do you have the same hobbies as your family members?
(Answer 1)
Yes, I’m similar to my grandma. She loves gardening too! I believe I got this interest in planting from her. Although she’s already in her mid-80s, she’s still very active in taking care of her ornamental plants. Also, I got some tips from her on how to prune (to trim to improve health), cultivate the soil, and grow plants healthily, and of course, I took notes (paid attention) of those invaluable (extremely useful) pieces of advice.
(Answer 2)
Well, no one in my family plays a musical instrument, except me. I think my parents really pushed (persuaded) me to learn to play musical instruments because that’s their frustration in life. They had no chance to do it when they’re children. I’m grateful to them for introducing me to the world of music.
