What kinds of flowers do you know?

Well, I know different types of flowers such as annuals, perennials (present at all seasons of the year), biennials (living or lasting for two years), and flowering shrubs. I love all of them as they beautify the environment. In fact, I have lots of flowers in my garden.

I know the specific names of flowers but I don’t know their type. Of course, I know about roses, sunflowers, orchids, lilies, tulips, cosmos, lavender, and many more. I can’t name all of them as they’re too many but among those flowers that I know, roses will always be my favorite. I just love them.

I don’t think I can name everything that I know as they’re just numerous (countless ), but anyway, let me mention my favorites such as roses, lilies, daffodils, carnations, tulips, and sunflowers. These flowers are what I love the most and I’m happy to say that I have all of these flowers in my garden.

Well, I know lots of flowers like violets, jasmine flowers, azaleas, lavenders, and poppies, among others. Although I don’t have a green thumb (to have the ability to grow plants well), I make sure to have some flower plants at home to make my house lively. You may wonder if that’s really possible, well honestly, it is. I ask my husband to plant flowers in our garden and take care of them since he’s naturally good at planting.
Are there any flowers that have special meaning in your country?

Yes, there are distinct (particular) flowers in our country with a special meaning such as roses and carnations. Red roses symbolize passion and love while carnations symbolize importance and care. That’s why carnations are commonly given to mothers on Mother’s Day.

I believe there are, however, I’m not so familiar with it. I know that different colors of roses have special meanings such as love and passion for red roses, mystery for blue roses, friendship for yellow roses, and thanksgiving for pink. Also, jasmine is our national flower. As for other flowers, that’s something I know nothing about.

Well, jasmine is our national flower, it symbolizes purity, simplicity, humility, and strength. We also believe that red roses are a symbol of our passionate love for someone while the chrysanthemum symbolizes our deepest sympathy to the bereaved (suffering the death of a loved one) family.

I’m pretty sure there are but I’m not certain (having no doubt; being true or real) about their significant meaning, except for cherry blossoms. They represent a new beginning, a new life, a new adventure, something like that (something similar to what has been mentioned). So that’s why every month of April, we feel so delighted to see cherry blossoms. They give so much life and that makes us so inspired.
Have you planted any flowers?

Yes, one of my hobbies is planting. If you visit me at our house you can see various kinds of flowers planted in our garden. I think I inherited (derived genetically from parents or ancestors) this interest from my grandmother because she really enjoyed planting when she was still alive.

Unfortunately not because I don’t have a green thumb (very good at gardening). I tried planting when I was a teen but for some reason, all those plants just died. Anyway, even though planting is not for me, I love seeing flowers and any kind of plants because seeing them relaxes me and relieves my work-related stress.

Yes, I have a flower garden at home. I planted most of them when I was a college student. My interest in planting flowers started when I bought a bouquet (a bunch of flowers arranged attractively) of roses for my girlfriend. I realized that the price was incredibly (unbelievably) expensive, especially since I was only a student then. I was thinking that I’d better grow my own roses so I didn’t need to buy flowers every Valentine’s Day. Since then, I’ve fallen in love (develop a liking for something) with planting many kinds of flowers at home.

Yes, several times but they just died. I believe I don’t really have the natural ability to grow plants but that does not stop me from collecting ornamental (decorative) plants at home. Thank God, my husband is great at planting so we have a lovely garden at home.
Have you sent flowers to anyone?

Yes, I have. I normally give flowers to my mom on Mother’s Day as that has become my tradition. Aside from that, I give flowers to my partner not just on special occasions but also when I feel like it. It’s my way of expressing my love and appreciation.

Definitely! I enjoy surprising my mom on her birthday with flowers. I also send flowers to my closest friends both female and male friends. In the past, I found it weird to give flowers to my male friends but actually, they loved it and that’s when I realized that men do love to receive flowers too.

Of course! I have sent flowers to my mom every year on Mother’s Day and her birthday. She loves carnations so I never miss sending her some during those special days. And to my girlfriend every Valentine’s. Somehow (in some way ) it has become my tradition to send flowers to them and I like it.

Yes! In our country, sending flowers to our parents, lovers, and teachers is part of our culture. So every year, we make an effort to buy a bouquet of flowers and give them to people who are near and dear (of great importance to and held in very high esteem by one) to us, but for me, I just pick flowers in our garden and send them to my parents or to my closest friends who celebrate their birthdays.
