IELTS SPEAKING PART 1: Good View

GOOD VIEW: IELTS SPEAKING PART 1

TOPIC QUESTIONS AND ANSWERS

Do you like to take pictures of good scenery? ย

(Answer 1) ย

Yes, I do. I enjoy taking pictures of mountains, landscapes, rivers, beaches, and anything thatโ€™s related to nature. Those great views remind us how minute (extremely small) we are in the grand scheme of things (considering everything).

(Answer 2)ย  ย

Of course! Who doesnโ€™t love taking pictures of good scenery? I donโ€™t know anyone who couldnโ€™t care less (you do not care about it at all) of the magnificent views of a mountain, some rock formations on the beach, pristine (clear) rivers and lakes, protected forests, and things like that ย (used when you do not want to complete a list). Itโ€™s a missed opportunity if I donโ€™t take photos of amazing scenery.ย ย  ย  ย  ย

Is there good scenery in cities? ย

(Answer 1) ย

Unfortunately, thereโ€™s none in this city, however, in neighboring cities, there are some spectacular views of mountains and hills. When youโ€™re driving heading to the city center, youโ€™re welcomed by the mountain views and when you go farther down, some views of hills become visible. Those surely leave you in awe (a feeling of amazement). ย

(Answer 2) ย

Well, some cities have and some donโ€™t, but most of the time, there isn’t good scenery in cities because all we see is a concrete jungle (a modern city filled with large buildings). Actually, I like it that way as we get to experience different views in every place. I mean, if we travel to the countryside we can experience nature, and if we travel to the city we get to see and experience a place that is developed and modern.ย

ย ย

Is there good scenery in your hometown? ย

(Answer 1) ย

I was born and raised in this big city so thereโ€™s none. Iโ€™ve grown up seeing traffic, skyscrapers (very tall buildings), and crowded places. Thatโ€™s why every time I have an opportunity to travel, I seize (grab or take the opportunity) it and travel to places where I can get close to nature.ย  ย

(Answer 2) ย

Yes! Thereโ€™s a beautiful lake near our house where I can see some wild ducks swimming in the morning or afternoon. Aside from that, our residence is a great place to witness both the sunrise and sunset. The last time I visited there I took great pictures of the beautiful sunset reflected on the lake. It was picture-perfect.ย  ย

When you travel, do you like to stay in hotels with scenic views? ย

(Answer 1) ย

I would love to, but most of the time, a hotel with scenic views always costs three to four times more than those without such views. Iโ€™d rather spend my money on food and other things when I travel than spend it on a very expensive hotel because of its scenic view. As long as the hotel is safe and comfortable that’s fine with me.ย

(Answer 2)

I do but not all the time. It depends on the availability and the price. Sometimes, Iโ€™m lucky to book a hotel with a mountain view or a sea view at a discounted rate, especially if itโ€™s not a peak season. However, if the price is just unreasonable (too much), I just choose a regular hotel. I donโ€™t mind at all (to not care).

ย  What scenery can you see from the window of your home? ย  ย
