GOOD VIEW: IELTS SPEAKING PART 1
TOPIC QUESTIONS AND ANSWERS
Do you like to take pictures of good scenery?
(Answer 1)
Yes, I do. I enjoy taking pictures of mountains, landscapes, rivers, beaches, and anything that’s related to nature. Those great views remind us how minute (extremely small) we are in the grand scheme of things (considering everything).
(Answer 2)
Of course! Who doesn’t love taking pictures of good scenery? I don’t know anyone who couldn’t care less (you do not care about it at all) of the magnificent views of a mountain, some rock formations on the beach, pristine (clear) rivers and lakes, protected forests, and things like that (used when you do not want to complete a list). It’s a missed opportunity if I don’t take photos of amazing scenery.
Is there good scenery in cities?
(Answer 1)
Unfortunately, there’s none in this city, however, in neighboring cities, there are some spectacular views of mountains and hills. When you’re driving heading to the city center, you’re welcomed by the mountain views and when you go farther down, some views of hills become visible. Those surely leave you in awe (a feeling of amazement).
(Answer 2)
Well, some cities have and some don’t, but most of the time, there isn’t good scenery in cities because all we see is concrete jungle (a modern city filled with large buildings). Actually, I like it that way as we get to experience different views in every place. I mean, if we travel to the countryside we can experience nature, and if we travel to the city we get to see and experience a place that is developed and modern.
Is there good scenery in your hometown?
(Answer 1)
I was born and raised in this big city so there’s none. I’ve grown up seeing traffic, skyscrapers (very tall buildings), and crowded places. That’s why every time I have an opportunity to travel, I seize (grab or take the opportunity) it and travel to places where I can get close to nature.
(Answer 2)
Yes! There’s a beautiful lake near our house where I can see some wild ducks swimming in the morning or afternoon. Aside from that, our residence is a great place to witness both the sunrise and sunset. The last time I visited there I took great pictures of the beautiful sunset reflected on the lake. It was picture-perfect.
When you travel, do you like to stay in hotels with scenic views?
(Answer 1)
I would love to, but most of the time, a hotel with scenic views always costs three to four times more than those without such views. I’d rather spend my money on food and other things when I travel than spend it on a very expensive hotel because of its scenic view. As long as the hotel is safe and comfortable that’s fine with me.
(Answer 2)
I do but not all the time. It depends on the availability and the price. Sometimes, I’m lucky to book a hotel with a mountain view or a sea view at a discounted rate, especially if it’s not a peak season. However, if the price is just unreasonable (too much), I just choose a regular hotel. I don’t mind at all (to not care).
