PART 1
MACHINES
What is your favorite machine in your home?
(Answer 1)
It’s the washing machine! I don’t think I can live without it as I’m too reliant (dependent) on it. I can’t handwash because my hands are allergic to detergent. Whenever my hands are soaked (to become thoroughly wet) in water with detergent, they become itchy, and I get cuts if I scratch them. Living without a washing machine is unimaginable for me.
(Answer 2)
I have a lot, but if I could only choose one, it’d be a computer. Without it, I wouldn’t be able to make a living since my work depends on using a computer. Besides, my life would be so dull (boring) if I had no computer since I use it for entertainment purposes, as well.
Do you think washing machines and sweeping machines are important?
(Answer 1)
Personally, yes! They make people’s lives easier. Because of these machines, people can make use of their time effectively as they don’t need to do the cleaning manually, unlike in the past. With washing machines and vacuum cleaners, especially those that are robotic, people can do other house chores while waiting for their clothes and floors to be completely cleaned.
(Answer 2)
Yes, that’s without a doubt, but it doesn’t mean that people couldn’t live without these machines. I mean, people survived in the past without any of these, so if they could live without the help of these machines, I believe modern people also can. I acknowledge that these machines are invaluable (extremely useful), but I can live without any of these.
Do you read the instructions before using a machine?
(Answer 1)
I’m a very lazy person, so most of the time, I don’t. I’m a person who learns things through experience. That means I usually learn how to operate a machine by exploring it. For instance, when I bought a washing machine, I just pressed the labeled buttons to start operating the machine without spending time reading the manual, and it worked well, anyway.
(Answer 2)
That depends on the kind of machine. If I’m already familiar with machines like washing machines, coffee machines, computers, and things like that, I don’t necessarily need to read the manuals because I have first-hand experience of using such machines. However, if it’s my first time operating a certain type of machine, I read the instructions diligently (in a way that shows care) so I won’t damage it.
Do you think it is important to read the instructions?
(Answer 1)
Basically, yes. Instructions are a guide on how to do things, but like I said earlier, there are some people who don’t see reading the manual instructions of appliances or machines as a must. People like me learn how to operate machines through experience, and we know that that’s not always the best way. But in other aspects, such as taking an exam or taking a medication, reading instructions can’t be underestimated (to be less important).
(Answer 2)
Yes, and that I think shouldn’t be a question in the first place. I mean, people simply fail in competitions or exams if they don’t read the instructions or listen to the instructions attentively. Instructions are a guide or a kind of rule that people should follow to do something correctly, effectively (in a way to achieve a desired outcome), and efficiently (in a way to do something with minimal effort).
