Do you often send emails?

Yes! As a nurse, I need to send emails to our doctors and patients from time to time. But most of the time, my emails are sent to my patients asking for some personal data or giving some healthcare information. I like this mode of communication (way of communicating) because it’s pretty convenient.

Not that often since our means of communication at work is Slack. I can only use emails when I need to send confidential documents that need to be encrypted (convert data into a code to prevent unauthorized access). Actually, I send emails to our clients at least twice or thrice a month.
When would you send emails to others?

As I said earlier, as a nurse, I need to send emails to our patients whenever I need to collect some personal data and when I need to provide some pieces of healthcare information that are beneficial to my patient’s condition. Aside from that, I sometimes send emails to my friends and relatives when I invite them to social gatherings like birthday parties.

Well, at work, I send emails to our clients when I need to send quotations, payment requests, and contracts. Like I said earlier, I do that at least two or three times a month. Anyway, I sometimes send my travel videos to my friends and family via email since I can’t send them through messaging applications because of the file size limit.
Is sending emails popular in your country?

I believe so because it’s pretty convenient. All businesses use this mode of communication to complete business transactions with their clients online. That itself is an indication (sign) that the use of emails is incredibly famous. Well, not just in this country but all over the world.

I’m not really sure about this because these days there are so many messaging applications that people can use to interact with their friends, family, or business counterparts. Well, of course, in the early 2000s, emails were undeniably popular among the people in this country, however, I doubt (feel uncertain about) if the use of emails is still popular these days.
Do you think sending emails will be more or less popular in the future?

I reckon the use of emails will be unpopular in the years to come because for sure there’ll be new inventions to communicate with people. You know, technology keeps on evolving and that’s inevitable (unavoidable). Many years ago, we’d never expected that emails would come into existence. So, I believe there’ll be a new way to communicate with people that’s way better than emails.

I don’t think it’ll become less popular in the future because emails are just pretty convenient. However, I think emails will be upgraded. I mean, the functions or features will be updated and more secure. I’m pretty sure email provider companies will keep on improving their email services to make sure their users will be satisfied.
Do you often write emails?

Yes, I do, writing emails is part of my everyday life since I’m an office worker. I send emails to random people about Greenpeace ads. This is my way of reaching a huge number of people to know more about our campaign of environmental conservation or protection.

Yes definitely! It’s the most effective means of communication in this digital age because it’s way quicker than conventional snail mail. I don’t think I can work more efficiently if I don’t use emails.

i.) ANSWER 1: The speaker gave a direct positive answer to the question and also gave his reason by connecting it to his work. Because of that, he’s able to extend his answer by talking about a very specific reason as to why he needed to write emails often. Great answer! He’s able to create a great answer great out from a very simple question.
ii.) ANSWER 2: Same as the first answer, the speaker gave a direct positive answer using a different term. He compared email to the traditional mail, in order for him to make his answer a bit longer and then relate it to his job as to why he often used emails.
iii.) ANSWER 3: Here the speaker gave a partly negative answer, and then he talked about the occasions when he needed to use emails. Brief and spontaneous answer!
Do you keep your emails?

Yes, and all of my Gmail messages are archived especially those business emails as they serve as my reference whenever I encounter some dispute with our clients. I make it a habit of storing them.

No, ever since I learned how to delete all emails at once on Gmail, I never keep one. I’m just pretty scared if someone hacks my email, all of my personal information or anything confidential will be disclosed on the internet. So I make sure not to store any.

i.) ANSWER 1: The speaker gave a direct affirmative answer and then specifically talked about what he did to all of his Google emails. Then he ended his answer by simply saying that it became his routine to do such a thing.
ii.) ANSWER 2: The speaker provided a straightforward ‘no’ as his answer, then talked about his reason spontaneously. He gave the examiner the idea of valuing personal information and confidentiality. He sounded like a very fluent English speaker here.
What kind of email did you receive recently that made you happy?

Well, it’s the job offer contract that I received unexpectedly that made me feel over the moon. I remember I had tears of joy when I got it since I was jobless for some time and I had a long list of bills to pay every month. I was very grateful to my current company for giving me the opportunity.

It’s an email from a commercial bank informing me that my car loan application got approved. I was so delighted to receive it because commuting on public transport is really exhausting.

i.) ANSWER 1: Instead of paraphrasing, the speaker gave his answer straight away and explained why it made him happy. His answer was very realistic and something that some of us have experienced some time in life. A very honest answer can lead to a spontaneous delivery.
ii.) ANSWER 2: Same as the first answer, the speaker stated his answer to the question at once and simply provided the reason why it made him happy. Brief and well-explained!
Do you think it’s important to reply to emails quickly?
(Answer 1)
I believe it depends on the type of email. If it’s a business email, it is just imperative to reply as quickly as possible. However, if it is not, I think we can just delay them for a few hours or even days.
(Answer 2)
Well, if it is urgent like work-related emails, then we must respond without any delay. However, if it’s not, like personal email or love email, I think we can delay responding to them for some hours or a day.
